Iconeek is proud to introduce a very fine and very rare stainless steel Enversteel manual winding chronograph wristwatch with tachymeter scale, made at the end of the 1930s: The Compax 30.
Under Ref. 5160, the model is fitted with a tonneau-shaped steel case with downturned lugs, rectangular pushers, a rounded snap on bezel, a snap on case back. The model is powered by a caliber UG 285, mechanical, manual winding, with gilt finish, index regulator, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, monometallic balance with timing screws, column-wheel mechanism for the chronograph.
Under the plexy glass, an original matte black dial, military style with gilt printings, luminous hands, an outer 1/5th division for the chronograph hand, an outermost tachymeter scale, three subsidiary dials for the 30-minute register at 3, the 12-hour register at 6, the constant second at 9. Dial, case and movement are signed. Reference 5160 is described and illustrated in Universal Watch Geneve, by Pietro Giuliano Sala, edition Vallardi, pages 236 to 238.
Nice, rare, early, a great UG chronograph !
Condition: 8/10, in very good overall condition for its age, some signs of wear in places, in working condition, overhaul recommended.
