Iconeek is proud to introduce here a very fine, nice and attractive, heavy, gilt brass display desk clock with dead-beat center-second and date, the Rolex « Time to the Second ». Powered by a Rolex quartz movement with dead-beat center-second, the present ref. 455 is one of the most iconic Rolex presentation chronometer desk clock produced in the 1980s for the Rolex's retailers.
Using all the stylistics elements, who made the success of the brand, such as the « Mercedes » hands, the combination of round, baton and triangular indexes, including the famous « nipples » shape indexes, the Cyclops lens in the acrylic glass to magnify the gold-rimmed date, the wood-effect lacquered dial, with matching bezel insert (such as the well-know gold Gmt-Master ref. 1675), a dead-beat center second (as the rare Beta 21 caliber powered Oysterquartz), an heavy cylindrical inclined large gilt brass base with reeded sides (such as the bezel of the wristwatches), the model is a small collector for anyone who enjoy the brand.
The model is powered by a caliber 8035, quartz, hidden behind a gilt plate, secured by one screw, underneath the base. All setting buttons are also hidden underneath the base. Dial, case and movement are signed. Rare to find on the market, these unusual clocks are actually under covered. Produced in limited series for presentation to Rolex Retailers, this superb condition cult clock has to be on every Rolex's collector desk. Encompassing all the characteristic elements of an iconic Rolex timepiece, you will get « The Time to the second » and even more.
