Iconeek is very proud to introduce here a superb, mint condition, rare 1930s dress watch by IWC, fitted with Breguet numerals. With movement number 961044, the present watch was made between 1935 and 1940.
The large 51.30 mm diameter 14K gold case is circular with inclined bezel, guilloche hinged case back, gilt cuvette and plexy crystal. This openface keyless watch is fitted with an highly attractive three-tone champagne dial, with the sough after applied gilt Breguet numerals and hands, an outer minute track, a guilloche subsidiary dial for the constant second. This superb watch is powered by a caliber 97, rhodium plated, 17 jewels, rhodium plated, straight line lever escapement, self-compensating blued steel Breguet hairspring, cut-bimetallic balance, index regulator. Caliber 97 was built between 1930 and 1964 in totally 16200 pieces, but most of them were built between 1930 and 1946, only 2400 pieces was built later (600 1955; 600 1961 and 1200 1964).
