HEUER, MONTREAL CHRONOGRAPH, CALIBER 12 SERIES, REF. 110.503 W, LEFT-HANDED AUTOMATIC CHRONOMETER

Iconeek is proud to introduce here a fine and rare,  large and unusual,  stainless steel tonneau-shaped automatic chronograph wristwatch with date,  pulsometer and tachymeter scales: the Heuer Montreal. Launched in 1972, The Montreal is one of the firm's most colorful watches ever made and standing out by its distinctive oversized case, the model gains popularity among the aficionados of 1970s timepieces. The model was available with black dial and white registers, under Ref. 110.503 N (Noir French for black), with white dial and black registers, under Ref. 110.503 W, such as the present watch, with blue dial and white division and registers, under Ref. 110.503 B (Blue),  with blue dial, blue division and white registers, under Ref. 110.503BC, with black dial, black division and white registers, under Reference 110.503 NC, a gold plated version with champagne dial, under Ref. 110.505 CH, a pvd coated version with all black dial, under Ref. 110.501.

 

Under Reference 110.503 W ( for White dial), the model comes with a two-body construction: a large water-resistant polished and brushed tonneau-shaped case, with winding crown at 9 o'clock, two round chronograph buttons in the band, flat mineral glass and a screwed case back. The size between the lugs is 19 mm. The reference and case number are engraved between the lugs. The inside case back is engraved « Heuer-Leonidas SA, SWISS, stainless steel ». Under the flat round mineral glass, we find a mint two-tone dial, white color center with applied luminous baton numerals, luminous orange hands, aperture for date at, two engine-turned black subsidiary dials for the 30-minute register at 3 and the 12-hour register at 9, outer white ring bearing the red tachymeter and blue pulsometer scale. The model is powered by a caliber 12, gilt-finish, mechanical, automatic with micro rotor, 17 jewels, with straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating flat balance spring, shock-absorbers, certified chronometer.  Dial, case and movement are signed. 

 

Condition: 7.5/10, case with some signs of wear and scratches in places, glass with some scratches, dial mint, movement in extremely good condition, winding crown need to be replaced, the watch will benefit from a light polishing and the replacement of the crown and the glass. In working condition.
